A Mental Illness Awareness Mass is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, at St. Patrick Church, 120 5th St. NW, Cedar Rapids. A reception will follow in St.
Patrick Parish Center. Individuals with mental illness, their families, friends, and caregivers, as well as community providers are welcome.
Following Mass, a reception will follow with a presentation "A Resilient Life: Di's Story".
The Mass will be offered for the intentions of those in the community affected by mental illness. “It is important for persons with mental illness to have spiritual support in their recovery,” said Father Dennis Miller, St. Patrick pastor. “St. Patrick Parish has hosted this Mass for several years because it is an important outreach to many people and families in this community and beyond.”

St. Patrick Parish staff, the Linn County Chapter of the National Alliance on
Mental Illness, and other community members are planning the Mass.
