Peace be with you.
This past week, our staff welcomed its newest member in the person of Steve Stefani. He’s a long-time St. Patrick’s parishioner, having met his wife Jennifer in the choir a few years ago. Steve will be the Building Manager and Coordinator of Evangelization. This is a part-time position, mostly mornings, that will involve skills that I have seen particular to Steve. He’s very good about helping us negotiate with outside contractors to get the best deal possible and very good about talking to others about his faith and inviting them to participate in the Catholic Church. I feel blessed to have Steve as part of our team and ask that you welcome him with open arms.
As we onboard Steve, I’ve also asked Shannon Bear to change her title from Volunteer Coordinator to Business Manager. Shannon has been doing many of the duties of the Business Manager for the last several months so this is really more of an acknowledgement of a reality than a change in responsibilities. She will be focusing on doing fundraising for the upcoming church restoration beginning summer of 2026.
Speaking of church
restoration, please know that we are just getting started on deciding what we want to have done next year. We need to fix the floor and do something with the tiles that are pulling away from the ceiling. But I’d like us to consider changing a few other things as well including adding some images of the apostles to the ceiling, finding a better location for the baptismal font, and lighting the dark side aisles in a way that also lights the Stations of the Cross. However, we have to be able to afford whatever we do.
I really feel like the Lord has blessed us with great people on our staff! Please keep us in your prayers that we will be united in love. The biggest challenge I’ve experienced in other assignments is when people lose sight of the importance of unity and service and, instead, focus on control and power. Pray that we can keep the humility and service of Jesus at our heart.
