RCIA Classes at St. Patrick
Do you wish to learn more about the Catholic faith, or have questions about becoming Catholic? The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a process that can prepare you to enter into full communion with the Catholc Church by celebrating the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist. St. Patrick Catholic Church is going to do an abbreviated form of RCIA. RCIA will meet weekly with Fr. Nienhaus from January 5 through March 30. RCIA candidates will be initiated into the church at the Easter Vigil Service on April 3. For details contact Fr. Nienhaus at the Parish Center.
Saturday Evenings Young Adult Ministry (Ages 21-39)
Catholic Young Adults of Cedar Rapids is a city wide ministry for young adults (20s and 30s) that meets every Saturday night at 7:30pm in the St. Patrick Parish Hall Education Wing (enter from 6th Street parking lot).
The focus is prayer, faith formation, community, and service. Each week the evening begins with prayer in the Divine Mercy Chapel and time for Eucharistic Adoration. Following prayer, everyone gathers for a time of education and discussion in the Celtic Grounds coffee shop. The format rotates each week between Scripture discussion, a Catholic or Current Topic, the YouCat series, the Bible, and a social event.
